The Type 105 was designed by Akio Morita, a former Formula 1 aerodynamicist for the Honda team. He led the development of the car and insisted on using the latest material innovations and technological solutions.
The 105 showcased the first carbon fibre monocoque chassis of any production car. The carbon fibre structure weighed in at a very slim 500 pounds, the whole car weighed only 1700 lbs.
This low weight coupled with the advanced aerodynamics of the exterior body and wings allowed for incredible performance. This utilizing of Ettore's philosophy of intelligent design, materials and low weight in the 105 was in essence a true return to the old Bugatti traditions of high performance road cars.
This isn't the only what-if Bugatti Type 105 artist Nikita Bridan has created. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

"This utilizing of Ettore's philosophy of intelligent design"
Little did he know the revolution he started.

It's funny, when I checked my notifications and Kinga took me to this thread, I first thought it was the green car at the very top you were speaking of.
The silver one is the The Lancia Stratos HF Zero. Kinda the precursor to the Countach.

1971? Get outta here.

True enough.
It's interesting to see trends come back around. If you look at how a lot of modern fenders are done (or at least in the last 5 years or so), they seem to have similar fenders - flared, but flattened on the very outside.

Very true. I'm hoping this trend has seen the extreme and reverts to none soon. The Alfa 8C would have benefited greatly.

I guess I haven't seen the sailfish/swordfish variant before!
